
I made a sqlite equivalent of inet_aton() built-in for postgresql and mysql. This takes an v4 IP address string and turns it into a number.

It uses an existing but rarely used technique called “multi-mode” and sets “trigger points” for switching the “major mode” of the buffer as your cursor moves through the code.
